LEVELS
There are 8 levels in Nosework Games.
All teams can start competing in level 1 to level 3. Known as Newbie, On the Way Up and Star in the Making.
Any team achieving 20 points in Level 3 or above will no longer be able to compete in Level 1.
A team achieving 20 points in any level will have qualified for that level. They will be able to add that title to their dogs name, so 20 points at level 1 will make you a Level 1 Newbie Nosework Games team.
Once you have qualified you can remain in the level until you have achieved 40 points and/or move up, the choice is yours.
Points are earned by coming 1st to 4th overall, getting a 1st place in an individual game if not placed overall or scoring 80% of the available marks in a competition.

Sunday the 7th of July IABTC Supersniffers welcomed dogs and Handlers from Raw Instinct Dog Training, https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100028607395138 and Tartan Paws Dog Training, https://www.facebook.com/TheTartanPaw to our first Nosework Games Skills, Train and Test day.
The session was enjoyed by all. The photos were taken during the training portion of the day. No photographs were taken during the tests.
The games were Snake, Hidden Treasure and Boom. Every dog and handler went away with at least one skills award and three went away having gained awards in all three games. The day was held in our lovely training centre. Odours were Birch and Anise
Snake: every handler found at least one hide and a good proportion did very well on this getting all the hides. The snake consisted of artificial bricks, chairs, cones, small stools and chickens.
Hidden Treasure: again almost every handler succeeded in this game, the substrate was compacted shredded paper the container was 12 inch high with substrate to the top.
Boom: this proved to be the most challenging, with only three teams finding all the hides, almost every team found one hide, the idea that if they went to far past the hide it would explode, messed with the owners minds even though they knew nothing would happen.
The standard of searches was high, especially those just starting their scent work journey. I was a pleasure to watch you all, and I hope you all finished the day feeling positive and rightly proud of yourselves and your dogs.
It is our intention to run several of these train and Skills train and test days throughout the year. We hope to welcome more dogs and handlers to the fun of Nosework Games.
